Shelby Kay Music
Harrisburg, South Dakota

Meet Shelby Kay

Shelby Kay is a small-town South Dakota musician and personal jukebox who believes the best live music is about playing what the crowd wants and creating memories that last.

A self-proclaimed “band nerd” growing up, Shelby picked up every instrument she could get her hands on — from piano, drums, and guitar to ukulele and woodwinds. Inspired by Johnny Cash, her grandparents, and her mentor Kathy Williams, she began performing alongside her family and at county fairs at just 11 years old.

After chasing her music dreams and passion for horses to Nashville, Shelby returned to South Dakota around 2024 and decided it was time to make music more than a dream. Since then, she’s been booking gigs throughout Sioux Falls and the surrounding areas, bringing her unique blend of southern rock, country, pop, alternative, and music from every era to every stage.

For Shelby, music is more than entertainment — it’s healing, connection, and a way to bring people from all walks of life together. Whether she’s playing a crowd favorite or taking a request on the fly, her goal is simple: play good music, have a good time, and make memories.
